Redress
| Role | Armed raider |
|---|---|
| Operator | Pirate crew |
| Earlier role | Escort |
Redress is a former escort now used as an armed pirate raider. It operates with Windfall, a converted work/cargo vessel that handles stolen loads.
Escort and raider
Redress supplies the armed force in the pair's robberies, while Windfall provides cargo-handling and carrying capacity. Both crews knowingly take part; their different jobs do not make the cargo operation an innocent freight service.
The ship's earlier escort service does not establish the employment history of its present crew. Its former operator, original name, and the means by which the pirates acquired it remain undefined.
Name
Redress is a name chosen for the ship's pirate identity rather than retained from a former operator's naming tradition. It presents the crew's raids as taking something owed to them.
That is the crew's justification, not a legal right to other people's cargo or proof that the people they attack are responsible for their grievances.
