Altair is a large Earth-Saturn carrier operated by Farspan Logistics. Its regular Saturn port is Aquila, Farspan's freight-hub town.
Long-haul carriers connect the settlements to imported equipment and outside trade. Altair belongs to that commercial network, not to a state navy. A large carrier is not automatically an express ship; its drive performance and passage schedule have not been established.
Altair takes its name from a navigational star, the brightest in the constellation Aquila. The pairing links the ship and its regular port without making the ship a permanent fixture at the station.
